Nightly Story is a daily bedtime-story subscription for children aged 2–9. Every evening we write a brand-new, gentle story personalised to your child — built around their name, the things they love, their pets and their friends — and deliver it to your inbox, ready to read aloud at bedtime.

When you sign up, you tell us a little about your child: their name, age, interests, pets, friends and anything going on in their world. We weave those details into every story, so it feels like it was written just for them — because it was.

A fresh story is written every single night, and we keep track of recent stories so they stay varied. Over time, a gentle story world grows up around your child, with characters and places that come back — but each night’s adventure is new.

Nightly Story is designed for children aged 2 to 9. You can tailor the reading level and story length to suit your child as they grow.

Yes — and we are happy to be open about it. Each story is written fresh by AI and personalised to the details you share about your child. We believe in gentle transparency: you always know how the stories are made, you choose what we know, and you stay in control.

Always. Stories are written with the youngest children in mind — no violence, no frightening moments, nothing upsetting. On top of that, every single story passes an independent safety review before it is ever sent. If a story does not pass, a carefully vetted gentle story is sent instead, so bedtime is never missed.

Yes. If there is a theme you’d rather we steer clear of, just let us know at hello@nightlystory.com and we’ll keep it out of your child’s stories.

Only what you choose to share to make the stories personal — typically a first name, age, interests, pets and friends. We do not need a surname, an address, or a photo. You are always in control of what you tell us.

No. Even on the Personalised plan, where your child appears as the hero, the character is a gentle cartoon drawn from a short description you provide — never from a photograph. We do not collect or store images of your child.

Yes. As the parent or guardian you can ask to see, correct, export or permanently delete your child’s details at any time. Just email hello@nightlystory.com or visit your preferences page. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You won’t be charged on the day you sign up — billing only begins after the trial, and you can cancel any time before then at no cost.

Standard is £9.99/$9.99 a month, or £99/$99 a year (about 2 months free), for a fresh personalised story every evening. Personalised is £14.99/$14.99 a month, or £149/$149 a year, and adds your child drawn as the hero of each story. You’ll see prices in your local currency, with £/$ and monthly/annual switches on the pricing section.

Cancelling takes a couple of clicks from your preferences page — no phone calls, no fuss. You’ll keep your stories until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

Every evening’s email has an unsubscribe and manage-preferences link at the bottom. You can pause stories, change the delivery time, or stop altogether at any time.
